Our Incredible Open Day
WOW! first of all let us thank an amazing crew of people who helped us open (bullied us into letting them help!) – Leah, David and Daniel T, Kaz S, Christie R, Emma, the Dillinghams and Johanna! Thanks also to all our friends who brought themselves and their kids along! Finally thanks to all those people who took a chance on coming in, without ever meeting us! We had so much fun and words cannot express how fantastic it was to see the place buzzing!
We took lots of photos on the day and chances are if you were there we have a photo of you! However our policy is to never put any identifiable images of people online without their express permission. If you were at our open day, come by the studio and we can give you your photo on a disk !

THE GREAT CUPBOARD DEBATE AT 1416 MALVERN ROAD
This is J – its late Thursday Night – all of our painting is finally finished and we are starting to look the way we imagined when we first dreamed up Art Soup! Huzzah!
Earlier this evening the position of the cupboards sparked intense debate, with poor Mr JTM moving said cupboards about 17 different times around the studio with passersby chiming in with their two cents!
What we are loving about our part of Malvern road is how many people have popped in to say hello or waved hello through the window as we’ve been painting/organising/climbing up ladders/ dancing – theres a really lovely community feel here and we have felt really embraced by you all.
Theres still a number of things left to do to get ready but My Goodness! It already looks better than I dared dream!
Huzzah! Its all coming together
Its Tuesday morning at 10am, Im running on about 4 hours of sleep (This is J), several (lots of) coke zeros and sheer excitement.
Its almost unbelievable its all finally coming together after so much wishing and hoping and dreaming and planning!, and let me tell you – it is already looking AWESOME !
We had an incredible team of friends who showed up and helped us move everything in and I am so truly grateful ( and lets be honest, super touched) for everyones support – we couldn’t have done it without you x
Of course theres so much more to do but I couldn’t help to put up a few photos taken throughout the day and night, there was a video of crazy dancing but that mysteriously has been deleted from my phone, so strange!….

Mrs Fox hanging out as we move all our furniture goodies in, she was frightened of a passing tram so was later relocated

J is painting the skirtings (in the corner) Her brother Mr JTM painting around the hard to reach nails.

Mr JTM and G getting the painters tape LEVEL (using an iPhone app) – no mean feat (this literally took half an hour to get it perfect)

We’ve accumulated a mix of fun goodies that we thought would be fun to draw and have hanging around the place – The yellow hello is from a beautiful well wisher and goes perfectly!
